Busan: Where Tradition Meets Modernity

After Jeju, we made our way to Busan, a coastal city that effortlessly merges stunning beaches, majestic temples, and modern attractions. 

  • Shopping at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok: Indulge your shopaholic tendencies at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok, a paradise for fashion enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike. Immerse yourself in a sea of trendy boutiques, luxury brands, and traditional Korean products, making it impossible to resist a few well-deserved retail therapy sessions. Bonus - there’s an incredible food market on the basement floor. Everything from goodies to takeaway to sit-down restaurant pop-ups. 

  • Haedong Yonggungsa Temple: Perched dramatically on the edge of the sea, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a must-visit spiritual haven. Admire the intricate architectural beauty, breathe in the fresh ocean breeze, and witness the awe-inspiring sight of hundreds of lanterns illuminating the temple during special events.

  • Haeundae Sky Capsule: For an unforgettable panoramic view of Busan's coastline, head to Haeundae Sky Capsule. This unique attraction offers a thrilling ride inside a transparent capsule that fits 4 people that slowly ascends, granting you breathtaking vistas of the city's skyline, sparkling beaches, and majestic mountains.

  • Spa World: Indulge in ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation at Spa World, a haven of tranquility in the heart of Busan. Immerse yourself in therapeutic hot springs, soothing saunas, and luxurious spa treatments that will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized. Let go of your cares and immerse yourself in a world of serenity and well-being. I treated myself to the most incredible facial that I still think about to this day!

  • Gamcheon Art Village or Haeundae Munhwa Village: Immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and artistic charm of Gamcheon Art Village or Haeundae Munhwa Village. These artistic neighborhoods are filled with captivating murals, quirky sculptures, and charming cafes, making them perfect spots for leisurely strolls and Instagram-worthy moments.

Gyeongju: A Journey Through Time

Next, we venture into the historical heartland of South Korea, Gyeongju, where ancient treasures await. 

  • Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond: Uncover the grandeur of the Silla Dynasty by visiting Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond. This meticulously restored historical site boasts elegant pavilions, serene gardens, and a picturesque lotus pond, creating a tranquil atmosphere that takes you back in time. We explored this at night time and it was beautiful! 

  • Bulguksa Temple: Regarded as a masterpiece of Buddhist art, Bulguksa Temple is an architectural marvel nestled in the serene Tohamsan Mountains. Marvel at the intricately carved stone pagodas, serene prayer halls, and serene courtyards, which together offer a profound sense of spirituality and tranquility.

Seoul: The Dynamic Capital

Our journey concluded in Seoul, a city where ancient traditions coexist with modern marvels. 

  • Food Galore: Seoul is a food lover's paradise, offering a diverse culinary scene that caters to every palate. 

    • From the London Bagel Museum Cafe, where you can savor unique bagel creations, to Viking's Wharf, a seafood lover's dream, and the mouthwatering delights of Korean BBQ, Onion Cafe, and Sambangmae, your taste buds are in for a treat.

  • Things to Do:

    • Starfield Library in the COEX Mall: Find solace amidst a sea of books at the Starfield Library, located within the COEX Mall. Lose yourself in the vast collection, soak in the cozy ambiance, and enjoy a quiet moment of literary indulgence.

    • Sunset Boat Cruise: Witness Seoul's enchanting skyline transform as the sun sets during a romantic boat cruise along the Han River. Marvel at the city's illuminated landmarks, including the iconic Seoul Tower, and create unforgettable memories against the backdrop of a mesmerizing sunset.

    • Myeongdong and Jongno Shopping: Endulduge yourself a bit in the vibrant shopping districts of Myeongdong and Jongno. Explore a myriad of local boutiques, global brands, and traditional markets, where you can find everything from fashion-forward trends to authentic Korean souvenirs and, of course… Korean skincare.
