Our Stay at Terrass" Hotel in Montmartre, Paris
When planning for our most recent visit to Paris I had known that I wanted to stay in the Montmartre neighborhood. James and I were in Paris last year for our honeymoon and we visited the neighborhood. We both fell in love with its charm.
Montmartre is a large hill in Paris’s 18th arrondissement and is primarily known for its artistic history, the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur, and lots of cafes and restaurants. We loved wandering around the cobblestoned streets, along the ivy-clad houses, and spent too much time than we’re willing to admit oohing and ahhing over the boulangerie windows stocked full of some of the most stunning pastries.
Now, where did we stay? Leading up to our trip I spent a lot of time researching on AirBnB and debating if we wanted to stay in an apartment or a hotel. We ultimately went with a hotel as we were only going to be in Paris for a long weekend and liked the idea of knowing we could leave our bags at the hotel if our room wasn’t ready and the convenience that comes with the concierge and hotel restaurant/bar. The Terrass” Hotel had great reviews, a stunning rooftop bar, and was reasonably priced for a higher-end hotel. It was also perfectly located for what we wanted to do.
The hotel was originally built in 1911 with rooms and suites decorated like lodges with contemporary decor. The welcoming lobby had a friendly and knowledgeable concierge, various lounge seating options, and complimentary still and sparkling water for guests. Bonus points for the NUXE Spa where James treated me to an anniversary message. Additionally, their bar is perched on the 7th floor with panoramic views (and yes, you can see the Eiffel Tower). We enjoyed a quick pre-dinner drink up there.
