The Best Homemade Guacamole

Who doesn’t love avocados? If you don’t we probably can’t be friends. (Just kidding, but seriously…how don’t you like them!?) For my avocado loving friends, my mom makes some of the most incredible guacamole and I want to share the recipe with you!

My favorite thing about her recipe is not only that it tastes great or that it’s so simple to make BUT that it’s so versatile and you can easily switch it up depending on what kind of guacamole you’re craving. I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Avocado
  • ½ Lime juice
  • ½ a small jar of jalapeños (We typically use Old El Paso Chopped Green Chiles.)
  • 2 tablespoons of either homemade salsa, pico de gallo, or diced tomatoes.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Extras (I recommend you pick one or two to throw in if you have them. Add however much you like.)

  • Red onion
  • Green onion
  • Roasted corn
  • Shredded carrots

Note: Depending on how much guacamole you want to make you can always add more avocado! Got two or three avocados? Double or triple the recipe!

Recipe:

  1. In a bowl, mash together the avocado. Depending on how chunky you like your guacamole will determine how long you mash it up.
  2. Mix in your lime juice, jalapeños, and salsa.
  3. Sprinkle in some salt and pepper. And taste!
  4. Add in any extras that you want and serve!

* The lime juice not only adds great flavor but it helps to prevent your guacamole from turning brown a bit longer.
