The Enamored Life

Paris is always a good idea…

Our Air BnB. Located near The Eiffel Tower on Rue Cler. The most perfect Parisian apartment to ever be in.

Itinerary:

Friday:

Take a stroll through Jardin des Tuileries

The gorgeous garden is full of greenery, beautiful flowers and sculptures and was the perfect way to re-introduce myself to this stunning city.

Grab a snack at Le Nemours

Does the name sound familiar? If you’re an Angelina Jolie fan you might recognize it from her and Johnny Depp’s movie The Tourist. Seeing that I had just arrived we celebrated with a glass of champagne… oh and a sandwich because a girl's gotta eat!

The Louvre

Did you know that The Louvre is free for anyone 25 and under after 6PM on Fridays!? Well, now you do! What did we see? Our girl Mona Lisa of course (though, I may say, so...so…so tiny), The Venus de Milo statue, and many, many, many breathless pieces of art in between.

The Eiffel Tower at Sunset

If you’re looking for magic in your life this is where you go, hands down. As the sun began to set, the Eiffel Tower took on a new life and right on the dot at 10:00PM she began to twinkle. If that is not the most perfect way to end your first day in Paris I’m not sure what is.

Gelato for Dinner

After traveling through multiple time zones and hitting the streets of Paris and wandering through museums,  it was most definitely time for bed. But who can go to bed on an empty stomach? Seeing as it was our first night of vacation, we did what most smart American girls traveling through Europe would do…we ate gelato for dinner.

Saturday

Wake up early and fuel up

Due to extreme excitement and being able to fall asleep the second my head hit the pillow we were ready to go at 7AM.

As we made our way from Rue Cler towards The Eiffel, we decided to get breakfast at Bistro Le Champ de Mars. Looking through the menu  guess what caught my eye? Bread.Cheese.Egg. Need I say more? Paired with a cappuccino and my day was off to a great start! P.S. We met the cutest cat named Cous Cous IN the restaurant. Animal lover to fellow animal lovers out there – Paris, as a whole, loves their pets! An older couple even had specific treats ready to feed the cat.

Galeries Lafyette

What’s a girl to do on a rainy day in Paris? SHOPPING. Little did we know that we were in Paris during one of the BIGGEST sale weeks of the entire year. #Winning however, the Galeria is not like any other mall. No, this is the mall to end all malls. With almost every designer you could think of from make-up to handbags to clothing, all encompassed by a stain glass ceiling! It felt as though you were in a live action theater. Oh, and you can go on the rooftop of this mall for the most stunning views of the city.

Ladurée

After our post workout (AKA shopping being our cardio for the day) we were hungry (Again? But you just had Bread.Cheese.Egg.? Yes – I’m never not hungry if you haven’t learned that yet.) Strolling into Ladurée is like walking into the most luxurious tea party you could ever be invited to. Decadent deserts welcome you as you enter, the plates and silverwear have gold details, and the hot chocolate is literally HOT MELTED CHOCOLATE! It’s lunchtime but Téa and I decided to get the girliest desserts you could ever dream of. They had actual rose petals on them, just putting that out there.

City Strolls

After a little bit of shopping we wandered around the city and saw the original Chanel store, The Ritz, and wandered over to Champs-Elysees.

Linner (Lunch/Dinner) at L’Avenue

If you’re like us you wouldn't be able to resist channeling your inner Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner while in Paris so we had to make a stop at L’Avenue. Greeted by a beautiful hostess we were able to grab a table outside and people watch. Something I didn’t realize Parisians LOVE to do. Hey – I don’t hate it! Hungry for something more than a macaron on steroids we grabbed smoked salmon and avocado sandwiches.

Arc de Triomphe

Just a few minutes’ walk down the road was La Arc Triumph. We hopped in line naively unaware of the workout to come. *Another discount for anyone 25 and under, yay* We waited in line to make our way to the top and were met with the toughest workout yet. I think that the stair master has incredible envy for this winding staircase. To put it in perspective, there are over 300 stairs on this winding staircase that you need to navigate. However, reaching to the top was the greatest reward. Stunning doesn’t even begin to describe this view.

The Eiffel Tower

If you don’t visit the Eiffel Tower everyday you’re visiting Paris, did you even go? After a quick wardrobe change (yes, we’re divas) we made our way to dinner by The Eiffel at Trocadero.

Sunday

Château de Versailles

Getting to Versailles is the easiest part of the journey. Waiting in line to actually get inside, that you have to mentally prepare yourself for. And we were not prepared. We thought that by “getting there early” and having pre-purchased our tickets we’d beat some of the line. Ma non! I think there is a forever endless line at Versailles. The post 3 hour wait to get into the palace was absolutely worth it though. I’ve never seen so much gold in my life or paintings of the same man. Truly an experience to have walked through.

Once we made your way through the palace, which was a little smaller than I expected, we made our way out to the garden. The garden is designed around alleys running parallel or perpendicular to the Royal Way, aka The Great Lawn, and marking out groves. Throughout the garden are about 50 fountains and over 600 water jets. There is a small restaurant hidden within the maze where we went to rest our feet. After having spent a total of almost 7.5 hours there it was time to head home. I think my feet were internally bruised from all of the walking.

The Eiffel Tower

This time we actually made it UP the tower! We couldn’t have picked a better time. As we made it to the second level (we walked all the way up, don’t ask why) the sun was just about to set. The city lit up with different shades of pink and gold. Again, we were experiencing pure magic. There is no other word that can be used to describe it. We made it all of the way to the very top and the tower began to twinkle. Why wish upon a star when you can wish upon 20,000 flashing lights on top of the Eiffel Tower in the most beautiful city in the world?

Monday

Notre Dame

Did you know that Notre Dame took about 182 years to build? The lines typically get very long here so I’d definitely recommend getting there early. Once the church opens you can walk in for free or purchase a ticket outside to go to the top. Every inch of the church is intricate, thoughtfully planned out, and full of detail.

Café de Flore

Before we left this beautiful city, we went to the Café de Flore, Hemingway and Picasso’s old stomping grounds in hopes that some of that genius creativity might rub off.

Love Lock Bridge

Now the bridge itself you can no longer add your love lock to but, there is a small area near Pont Neuf, where they’ve allowed people to place their locks. After finding the perfect place and making our wishes it was unfortunately time to pack our bags and head to the airport.
